Pokemon Party

Calling all Pokémon fans! Get ready to "catch 'em all" at our Pokémon party. There will be games, activities, and a craft for fans of all ages. We will have a trading station set up, so make sure to bring your cards!

Adult Coloring Party

Join us for some calming coloring time. Coloring sheets and pencils provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Cesar Chavez Celebration

Join us at Forest Avenue Library as we celebrate the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez! We'll begin with Bilingual Storytime for the Family, offer a delicious selection of tamales as a light lunch (while supplies last), and conclude with an expert panel discussion about the impact of Chavez's legacy on Iowans today.

Honeybee Basics

Carly Raye Vannoy, the 2017 Iowa Honey Queen, will discuss all aspects of beekeeping, from creating a hive to harvesting honey. Carly started beekeeping two years ago through the Iowa Honey Producers Association's Youth Scholarship Program and currently manages three hives of her own.

Introduction to the Foundation Directory Online

Learn to find funders for your nonprofit with the Foundation Center's comprehensive funding research tool, the Foundation Directory Online. This session provides a basic introduction to the resource. Central Library Computer Lab. Space is limited; please preregister.

Doctor Who Party

B.A.M.! (Books, Art, Make)

Bring your imagination and creativity to learn about different art techniques and artists. We will make a project to take home each session. Best for grades K-5. Children in grades K-2 should have an accompanying adult to assist them.

Master Gardeners Presents Morel Mushrooms

Master Gardener Eddie Robinson presents on morel mushrooms. Eddie is certified by Iowa State to identify morels, has extensive experience gardening and helps manage the Drake Farmer's Market. Come learn about these Iowa fungi by a Polk County expert!
