AViD presents Maureen Corrigan

The Des Moines Public Library is excited to announce this year’s full lineup for our Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) lecture series! Now in its 17th year, AViD is a highly acclaimed, free lecture series that connects world-famous authors with an audience from across the state.

Maureen Corrigan will take part in AViD in conjunction with the Wonder of Words Festival on Saturday, April 22. Corrigan is best known as the book critic of the popular NPR Radio program Fresh Air.

Maureen Corrigan is an American journalist, author, and literary critic. Corrigan has served as the book critic for the award-winning NPR program Fresh Air for more than 25 years. She also serves as a reviewer and columnist for The Washington Post’s Book World. Her literary memoir, Leave Me Alone, I’m Reading! was published in 2005. In 2014, she released her book So We Read On, covering why The Great Gatsby remains so captivating and influential in American life.
