The Des Moines Public Library is excited to announce this year’s full lineup for our Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) lecture series! Now in its 17th year, AViD is a highly acclaimed, free lecture series that connects world-famous authors with an audience from across the state.

Heather Gudenkauf wraps up the lecture series on Tuesday, May 30. Gudenkauf, who lives in Dubuque, will be celebrating the release of her newest novel, Not a Sound.

Teen Summer Volunteer Orientation

Join our orientation for students ages 12-18 wishing to volunteer at the Central Library during the Summer! Applications must be signed by teen and guardian and returned to the Central Library before the orientation. Approved teens will receive a call or email.
