Stop by the Children's area at Central Library to explore, play, and have fun after school. Parent/Guardian must be present with child, and supplies may be limited. Groups of 10 or more are welcome but asked to call ahead at 248-6431. This is an unstaffed program where activities are self-led.

STEM: Elephant Toothpaste

Join us for another exciting, hands-on chemistry experiment! We will create a dramatic exothermic reaction (meaning heat is given off) that looks like toothpaste rushing out of a big tube!

Experiments are geared for grades 3-8. Kids in K-2 are welcome if accompanied by an adult to assist. Older teens willing to assist younger kids are most welcome! Groups of 5 or more are asked to email at least 1 day in advance at

Youth Makerspace

A free, family friendly, educational environment where youth can build, design, create, and play with Littlebits, K'NEX, Kithub, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, and more! Today's makers become tomorrow's innovators with STEM based activities. For grades 3-8.

Play, Grow, Learn!

Play, Grow, Learn! is an opportunity for you to use the Imagination Station to explore early literacy tips and books, play with others, and develop early literacy skills using Forest Avenue Library's space and toys. This is an unsupervised, drop-in playtime where parents and caregivers are encouraged to interact with their children. Many items will be available for free exploration and play.

Preschool Storytime

Toddler Storytime
