John Lescroart is the bestselling author of several mystery novels. He’s best known for a series of detective novels centering on the adventures of attorney Dismas Hardy, his friends, and his coworkers, taking place in the San Francisco area. Lescroart was born in Houston, Texas, but moved to the Bay Area as a child. He eventually graduated from the University of California-Berkley with an English degree. After working several different jobs for more than twenty years, he became a full-time writer in 1994 and has since published more than twenty books.
Lescroart’s latest novel, Poison, is the 20th story the Dismas Hardy series. As Hardy contemplates retirement, a successful business owner named Grant Wagner is murdered. Hardy begins to investigate the Wagner, his family, and his associates, discovering dark, twisted secrets, jealous siblings, betrayals, and more. Lescroart’s novels have been on The New York Times bestsellers list several times, and he’s reached both commercial and critical success through this series.
