Library-Made Terrariums

Design your own world for a plant by making a terrarium at Central Library! A terrarium is like an aquarium, but for plants instead of fish. We will provide the basic supplies (plant, dirt, rocks, container, etc.) but feel free to bring in our own small objects to decorate your jar! This is a free program that is limited to 30 children, and does require pre-registration, so sign up now!

Air Rocket

Newton's third law states that “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Come explore forces and motion by making and testing a straw rocket complete with a water bottle launcher! Experiments are geared for grades 3-8. Kids in K-2 are welcome if accompanied by an adult to assist. Groups of 5 or more are asked to email at least 1 day in advance at jmstolz@dmpl.org.
