Remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Pa Vang Goldbeck will share her experience of visiting Hiroshima, Japan for two weeks. She works with Mayor Cownie who is the lead North American representative for Mayors for Peace, an organization dedicated to a world peace and a nuclear-free world. The Mayors for Peace aim to educate the public about the dangers of nuclear-weapons as we remember the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Space is limited. Sushi Workshop for Adults

Alex Akiyama will speak about the history of sushi. Alex is the Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) Coordinator with the Iowa Sister States (ISS). In this 90-Minute hands-on cultural activity Alex will show up to ten adults how to make sushi rolls. The first ten to sign up may also eat the finished product. Preregistration is only required for the making of sushi.
