For book lovers, there’s not much better than curling up with a good book, blanket and a cup of tea on a cold winter night or day. And because the winter can sometimes seem like it will never end, the Des Moines Public Library is going to celebrate staying in with a Winter Reading Challenge! It’s really easy — all you need to do is read a book and then tell us about it. After you’ve finished your book, go online to http://dmpl.org/winter-reading and submit a review. Fill us in on what you read — what the book is about, who are the characters and why you liked or disliked it. Each week, we’ll pick our favorite review and the winner will receive a $10 gift card to Beaverdale Books. All submitted reviews will be posted on the Winter Reading page so that everyone can enjoy them and get recommendations. At the end of the program, everyone who submitted a review will be entered in our grand prize drawing for a winter gift package.
If you’re looking for something to read, check out our Winter Reading suggestions. Come in to one of our six locations to pick up your winter reading, or go to http://dmpl.org/our-collection/e-books-and-more to check out e-books. Help us celebrate and survive the cold winter by participating! You’ll probably be reading anyway, so why not go to http://dmpl.org/winter-reading and write a review? It’s a great way to share your love of books with other readers and maybe even win a prize!
