A Star in the Face of the Sky
Novelist David Haynes’ work explores the intersections of class, race, gender, and generational difference. He believes that interesting fiction most often occurs when writers trouble the artificial boundaries that are erected to separate individuals and cultures. Haynes is the author of seven critically acclaimed novels, including The Full Matilda, and five children's books. He is director of creative writing at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
