Toddlers and caregivers enjoy stories, rhymes, finger plays, and songs geared to teach children early literacy skills. Storytime, led by a librarian, is approximately 25 minutes long. Ages 18 months - 3 years.
Enjoy a good read and tasty eats over the lunch hour. The Des Moines Social Club will be serving up a soup and a beverage for a suggested donation of $5 in the Café Gallery at the Central Library. Magazines and books will be available for browsing or checkout. Food ingredients are donated by Mercy Medical Center Food & Nutrition Services.

Play, Grow, Learn! is an opportunity for you to use the Imagination Station to explore early literacy tips and books, play with others, and develop early literacy skills using Forest Avenue Library's space and toys. This is an unsupervised, drop-in playtime where parents and caregivers are encouraged to interact with their children. Many items will be available for free exploration and play.
