AViD Presents: Lea Berman and Jeremy Bernard

Lea Berman and Jeremy Bernard both worked in the White House as social secretaries. Berman worked for President George W. Bush, while Bernard worked for President Barack Obama. As the head of the White House Social Office, the Social Secretary is responsible for all planning, coordination, and execution of official White House social functions. This includes everything from simple afternoon tea events to state dinners with hundreds of guests. Bernard was the first male and gay Social Secretary in history.

An Evening with Children's Author David LaRochelle

Meet Minnesota children's author and illustrator David LaRochelle and listen as he describes the process of how he creates his books. He'll share some of his stories and there will be plenty of time to ask questions. David has written a number of wonderful picture books including Moo!, This is Not a Cat, and the 2014 Bridge to Reading Award Winner, It’s a Tiger.
