Event Details

On June 3, 2019, the Des Moines City Council passed the Energy and Water Benchmarking Ordinance requiring building owners of buildings 25,000 sq. ft or larger to benchmark energy and water use and submit to the City annually by July 1st.

Join City staff and our partners at The Energy Group for in person, hands-on assistance reporting your data through Energy Star Portfolio Manager and attend a free open lab session at Central Library. This is the required reporting platform for all private property owners.

Registration required. Sign up for a session at: https://dsm.city/2020BenchmarkingDataJamRegistration or by email: sustainability@dmgov.org. Property owners should bring billing records for electric, natural gas, and water usage at their facility for the calendar year 2020. Computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis and property owners may bring their own computers if preferred.

ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is the required benchmarking tool for private property owners to submit their data to the City.

Sessions available for ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager users. Hosted by The Energy Group
