Matt Woods and Rob Lumbard will treat the audience to some fabulous blues at the beautiful Witmer Park! Join us at the open-air shelter on the north side that can be accessed via 37th Street off of Beaver Ave. You will need to bring your own chair or blanket for this concert.

Guitarist, Rob Lumbard, received his musical education in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa sitting in with the likes of Luther Allison, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, who played in the barrooms along Forest Avenue.  Lumbard’s release, Blues In A Bottle, won the International Blues Foundation’s 2016 Best self-produced CD award. He’s in The Iowa Blues Hall of Fame, the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and is an honorary member of the Central Iowa Blues Society.

Matt Woods is both a native of Iowa, and a longstanding purveyor of its diverse music scene.  As a seasoned performer of many local, regional and national venues, Matt has developed a distinct style while staying true to his love of traditional American music.  Woods is well versed in the many shapes this music can take; from traditional delta, hill country and urban electric blues, to gospel, country and folk music. Matt has been nominated for a Blues Music Award with Dustin Arbuckle for Best Acoustic Blues Album. Matt Woods will wow us with his masterful electric guitar wizardry!
