Stay Independent

Mary Krisco, Nutrition and Wellness specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, will facilitate this series. Stay Independent is a 5 part nutrition and wellness program for adults age 60+ that provides research-based nutrition and wellness information intended to help reduce their sarcopenia risk. Sarcopenia refers to muscle loss that occurs with age if a person gets too little muscle-strengthening exercise and too little protein in the diet. It is a major cause of premature frailty, falls, and disability.

Each session is 1 hour. Dates and topics are:

- Three Meals a Day - February 19
- Power Up With Protein - February 26
- Feast on Fruits and Vegetables - March 5
- Exercise Your Independence - March 12
- Where Did I Put Those Keys? - March 19

There is no cost for the programs, but registration is required for each session. Please contact 515-283-4152 for assistance.
