Winter Survival with Polk County Conservation

Some animals get through Iowa’s cold, snowy winters by heading into hibernation. Many others, however, keep active while battling freezing temperatures and dark skies. Discover what methods critters use to fend off the harsh Midwestern weather. From carnivores like foxes, to herbivores like deer, to even tiny insects, we’ll discuss how they stay warm and – more importantly – how they find food when it’s scarce.
