Bad Art Night: Oceans

Join us for an evening of ocean themed bad art at the East Side Library. This all-ages event will showcase your creativity. Materials will be provided for you to make a “bad” piece of art – -use your creativity to make your best ocean themed Pinterest fail or mess-terpiece. Each team will have about 30 minutes to create their work, then each piece of art will be put into our exhibition for all to vote. Three "winners" will be chosen with fun prizes. Light refreshments will be provided. Families/Teams are encouraged to register below.

Polling Place: Primary Election

The East Side Library Meeting Room is reserved as a Polk County City Election Polling Place. The Meeting Room doors will open to the public at 7:00 AM for voting. The Meeting Room doors will close to the public and voting will cease at 8:00 PM. Library services will not be available to the public from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Library services will be available to the public during normal operating hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention

Join us at the East Side Library for a Tai Chi class with instructor Paul Black. This class will specialize in arthritis and falls prevention, and can be done standing or seated. The program is beginner friendly and requires no experience with Tai Chi.

Tai Chi is a holistic form of exercise that promotes flowing movements and mind/body harmony. Tai Chi is sometimes called a "moving meditation"; as participants concentrate on doing the movements they often forget about their normal, every day concerns. Tai Chi is a slower paced, non-contact martial arts movements.
