Explore the vast world of your backyard with Heidi from Polk County Conservation! Encounters with wildlife in our neighborhood can either be met with excitement, disgust or fear. We’ll discuss commonly seen wildlife in our backyards and learn how we can co-exist peacefully together.
Heidi Anderson is a Naturalist with Polk County Conservation. Over the last 24 years she has educated thousands of people about our natural resources through educational programming, radio, television, newspaper articles, and social media. Heidi graduated from Iowa State University with a Fisheries and Wildlife Biology degree. Heidi and her family live on an acreage near Madrid, Iowa where they raise chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats.
This program is hosted outdoors. Attendees must obey all signage and follow current mask mandates and social distancing guidelines from the City of Des Moines.
