Event Details
Drawing leads to close, careful observation and improved memory. When we draw, we must look again and again at the least familiar parts of an object, paying careful attention to structures and shapes. This leads us to notice significant details, such as the angle of stems on a branch.
Nature Journal entries include words, pictures, and numbers, whichever mode is most comfortable for you. This is not about making a pretty picture. It’s about recording accurate information. JohnMuirLaws.org has provided a comprehensive series of lessons to teach us to look closer at nature and be inspired to care for our own special places. This workshop will focus on nature in winter.
Attendees may bring their own sketchbook, drawing pencils and eraser, but all necessary materials will be provided. Kathy E. Esch, Bachelors of Fine Arts and, Master Gardener and Master Naturalist, is the instructor.
Preregistration is required and will open on Wednesday, December 27 at 8:00 a.m.
