Adventure Pass Changes in 2025

Due to software issues affecting all libraries using the service, the Des Moines Public Library’s Iowa Adventure Pass program will no longer be available in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. We hope to reintroduce the service at a later time, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Program Description

Event Details

The Des Moines Public Library is partnering with the DSM Book Festival's DSM Book Club to cohost its first online book discussion. The book being discussed is "An American Marriage" by Tayari Jones. Jones was set to be the first Authors Visiting in Des Moines speaker for the library's 2020 series, as part of the DSM Book Festival, but both the series and the festival were canceled due to Covid-19. (Jones is tentatively scheduled to appear in 2021.)

The DSM Book Club is a new online sharing session designed to showcase Des Moines' favorite reads and get you ready to meet the authors at the March 2021 DSM Book Festival. This Club will inspire you with a monthly pick and features an online Zoom book discussion. Each month will feature one book that is connected to The Festival and an individual registration for participation. Haley Lunde, Des Moines Public Librarian, will serve as discussion facilitator.

Participation in the DSM Book Club is free. Find more information and register for the discussion HERE.
