Program Description

Event Details

Come to the Central Library to see a Day of the Dead ofrenda built by Latinx Immigrants of Iowa in partnership with the Des Moines Public Library.  The exhibit includes flowers created by Library visitors throughout October in memory of loved ones who have been lost.

In addition to the ofrenda, a public celebration will be held on Thursday November 2, from 5-7:30 p.m.

Visítanos y aprecia la ofrenda del Día de Muertos, la cual, fue realizada por Latinx Immigrants of Iowa en asociación con la Biblioteca Pública de Des Moines. La exhibición incluye flores creadas por los visitantes a la Biblioteca a lo largo del mes de octubre en memoria de sus seres queridos que han perdido . La ofrenda se encuentra en la biblioteca Central (1000 Grand Ave.).

Adicionalmente a la ofrenda, se llevara a cabo una celebración pública el 2 de noviembre, de 5 a 7:30 p.m.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
