Program Description

Event Details

Join the library and members of the Central Iowa chapter of the American Guild of Organist to learn about a unique musical instrument.

“Piper” is a small pipe organ with a mighty voice. Piper travels in silence to venues within counties served by the Central Iowa chapter of the American Guild of Organists (CIAGO) in kit form. Participants find Piper’s voice first by assembling the organ and then by playing the instrument with guidance from CIAGO members. Participants are introduced to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematical aspects that underlie Piper’s voice.
