Adventure Pass Ending in 2025

Due to circumstances outside of our control, the Des Moines Public Library’s Iowa Adventure Pass service will no longer be available in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. We hope to reintroduce the service at a later time, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Efrem Jackson will present a program about the government-sanctioned housing discrimination practice known as redlining, which has long plagued minorities in this country. The program will include time for break-out sessions and engagement activities with the audience.

Efrem Jackson is an ordained minister and founder/CEO of Free to Serve Financial Ministries, an organization with a mission to help individuals connect their faith and values to their financial decisions. He is a staunch advocate of financial literacy and erasing wealth disparities amongst minority communities.

Neighborhood Finance Corporation is using this program as a prequalifying event for their Journey to Home Ownership class. If you are African-American and considering buying a home, contact Bridgett Robinson (brobinson@neighborhoodfinance.org) for more information on gaining NFC's assistance.
