Grand Blue Mile Closures

Grand Avenue is closed today due to the running of the Grand Blue Mile. Patrons may access the Central Library's bookdrop, pick-up window, and parking garage through a lane on Grand Avenue until 5n PM today. At 5 PM, the bookdrop, pick-up window, and parking garage will close for the day.

Program Description

Event Details

DART staff will lead a training to help individuals learn to ride the bus in Greater Des Moines, as well provide updates on new programs and services. Training will demonstrate how to plan a trip, read maps and schedules, recognize bus stops, pay fares, practice rider safety and more. Attendees will receive a free monthly bus pass. Please note: Registration for this event is required. Maximum capacity of 50 attendees.

Central Parking

Free library parking is available in Central's underground parking garage for two hours per visit. Parking around the library is metered at various costs from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
