Library opening delayed

All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will open at Noon Saturday, December 14 due to weather. All locations will serve as emergency warming shelters during open hours.

“Sacrifice State” explores issues of environmental justice in Iowa, through interviews with Iowans from diverse experiences and backgrounds. This new book from the Iowa Environmental Council and Drake Community Press navigates questions about water quality, pollution, and climate change impact — and the communities that are most impacted. Join IEC and DCP, along with Iowans who contributed their thoughts and experiences to the book, for a presentation and discussion.
