Alex Kornya is the litigation director and general counsel of Iowa Legal Aid, and has been with the organization for almost 14 years. In this time, he has focused his practice on housing, consumer protection, employment, and collateral consequences, and has advocated for the rights of low-income tenants all the way from small claims court to the Iowa Supreme Court. Alex was the recipient of the 2021 Iowa Bar Association Rolland Grefe Award, and has published multiple articles in national publications about consumer protection for people caught up in the criminal justice system.
