All Locations Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All DMPL locations will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Forest Avenue Library's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration will take place at 4 PM at the Forest Avenue Library. Doors open at 3:30 PM for the program.

Warming Center Information: The Central Library meeting room wing will be open on Monday, January 20, from 9 AM-5 PM for use as a warming center. The library itself will remain closed.

Travel back in time to Buxton, Iowa with author Rachelle Chase. Buxton was a coal mining town where black people and white people were treated as equals in the era of segregation. Learn about daily life in Buxton and the prominent residents that lived there through images, audio, and newspaper clippings.
