Adventure Pass Ending in 2025

Due to circumstances outside of our control, the Des Moines Public Library’s Iowa Adventure Pass service will no longer be available in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. We hope to reintroduce the service at a later time, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Native plants are one of the top garden trends, but do we really know what "native Iowa" is? In this class, we will discover what Iowa was historically like and what we can do in our own personal gardens to begin to bring back so much of what was lost.

What's different about this class is plant options for shade will be extensively covered, along with plants for sun. Come see why Iowa's native landscape can be an inspiring part of your yard.

Derek has 15 years’ experience in the horticulture industry and 10 years in Iowa gardening. His own garden features 90% native plants and several different ecosystems! This is a native plant class you won’t want to miss.
