Join professor Andy Langager for a series on different aspects of the history of photography. This session will explore how moving images went from Eadweard Muybridge’s “horse in motion” photographs in the 1870s to William K. Dickson’s kinetoscope films, and the Lumiere brothers’ actualities. We’ll also touch on some early filmmakers such as George Méliès and Edwin S. Porter.
Andy Langager received his B.S. and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University. He is a journalism professor at the Ankeny DMACC campus, where advises the student newspaper and has taught History of Photography since 2012.
