Event Details
Visit the South Side Library on Wednesday, August 4 to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine. The Des Moines Public Library is partnering with Primary Health Care and the Polk County Public Health Department to provide the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for free to anyone 12 years or older who wants to get vaccinated. Appointments are open to anyone in need of the first or second dose.
Registration is encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome as well. To register, go to : https://phciowa.org/covid-19/#vaccine
Individuals attending the vaccine clinics in August will receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, a two-dose treatment. Those who are vaccinated will receive a variety of incentives, including:
-Assistance in registering for the Polk County Vaccine Lottery at DMPL public computers
-A free pool day pass, provided by the Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department
-A free one-day DART bus pass
No documentation is required to be vaccinated. If you have insurance, please bring your insurance card to the event if possible. A language line will be available for non-English speaking individuals, and DART will provide free rides to and from vaccine clinics. Individuals ages 12-17 must have parental consent to get vaccinated, which can be provided in-person or by phone.
