Program Description

Event Details

Iowa was built by generations of workers, but we rarely hear their stories. Drawing on oral histories, photographs, and documents collected over almost half a century, Speaking of Work: The Making of an Iowa Working Class introduces visitors to the voices and struggles of workers from across the state.

Join us on Saturday June 11th for a special program in partnership with the Iowa Labor History Society (ILHS). An open viewing of the oral history exhibit will be held from 12-1 PM followed by a keynote speech from ILHS President Dr. John McKerley and a panel discussion from 1-3 PM. Our program will conclude with an hour for guests to view the exhibit until 4 PM at their own leisure.
