Adventure Pass Changes in 2025

Due to software issues affecting all libraries using the service, the Des Moines Public Library’s Iowa Adventure Pass program will no longer be available in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. We hope to reintroduce the service at a later time, and we apologize for the inconvenience. 

Take & Make: DIY Butterfly Planter

Event Details

Join us online as Des Moines Parks and Recreation staff teaches us all about pollinators and how to make our own butterfly planters. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and do your part to help out Monarchs and pollinators. This program is for adults, but families are welcome to join.

Registrants will receive a FREE kit with all the supplies they need to create their planter. Limit one kit per household. Kits will be available for pickup at North Side Library during normal curbside pickup hours Monday, June 29th thru Wednesday, July 1st.

Registration is required. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with the link and password to the Zoom meeting.

This program is a presentation. Library staff will monitor the chat and will pass any questions attendees have to Parks and Rec staff. Disruptive or disrespectful comments in the chat may result in removal from the program.
