Adventure Pass Ending in 2025

Due to circumstances outside of our control, the Des Moines Public Library’s Iowa Adventure Pass service will no longer be available in 2025. Any reservation already made for 2025 will be honored, but we encourage anyone with a current reservation to print those passes immediately. Customers can make new reservations for passes that must be used by December 31, 2024. We hope to reintroduce the service at a later time, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Program Description

Event Details

We'll gather for World Singing Day, a global sing-along held annually in October which brings people together in their communities all around the world to sing together. We'll provide lyrics for a selection of popular songs including the 2021 WSD Song of the Year, “Here Comes the Sun.”

We'll meet outside the Central Library or in the Central Library meeting room in the case of inclement weather.

World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October. As a catalyst for positive human connection, this one day each year serves as an opportunity to celebrate our global family through the international language of music. It is not religious or political, and encourages people to put aside their differences and celebrate what we all share as human beings. World Singing Day is for everyone, regardless of your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, singing ability, and age. The event was founded in 2012 by Colorado musician Scott Johnson.

World Singing Day is a joyful community experience for musicians and non-musicians alike, from shower singers to celebrities, as they gather in their communities and sing together without the pressure of performing.

World Singing Day is not a competition, and no rehearsals are required. Anyone can join in the fun.
