Michigan-based singer/storyteller Bill Jamerson will provide a history of the Civilian Conservation Corps, one of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal initiatives. Operating between 1933 and 1942, in Iowa alone, the CCC employed over 49,000 men between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five, who served in army-run camps with an average of twenty-nine camps operating in the state each year.
