All DMPL locations are currently serving as Polk County Warming Centers during open hours. DART will be providing free rides to warming centers while the extreme temperature plan is in effect. More information about warming centers can be found on the Polk County website.

Join us outside on the Forest Ave Library's lawn for a very special storytime with a Firefighter from the Des Moines Fire Department. Hear stories, make a craft, learn more about fire safety, and get to see a fire truck up close!
