Listen to silly stories, sing songs, dance to music, and make art! Join us at Forest Avenue Library for Family Storytime every Wednesday morning at 10:15 A.M.

Join Miss Donna for this fun filled story time! Together we will enjoy stories, songs, and more, all selected to engage your active toddler. Ages 18 months to 3 years old.

Build with Lego at North Side! Complete one of our challenges or get creative and build something of your own!

Get creative in this class and give plain old cardboard exciting new life! Each week will present a different challenge to transform something ordinary into something extraordinary. 

Earn volunteer hours by helping out with library programs and projects! Teens ages 12 to 18 can drop in any Wednesday we are open and volunteer for one hour.

Join us at Forest Avenue Library for Card Club. We will play trick-taking card games such as 500, Euchre, Hearts, Spades, Tiến lên and others.

Children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers can join us Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. for a 30-minute storytime with stories, music, and fun activities!

Join us at the Central Library for a fun storytime featuring movement, music, and rhyming! 

Learn how to use the Glowforge Plus Laser Engraver at Tech Central! This program takes the place of the 1 on 1 Glowforge tutorial, so you will be fully qualified to book and use the Glowforge on your own after this program. 

Do you like to try new things, think on your feet, play games, and work in teams?

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll turn old cassette tapes into personalized journals. We will then personalize our  hands-on journaling prompts and stations to explore how music can be a form of self-care.

Pockets! Learn how to add pockets to a dress or skirt. Bring your own, or learn the concept on scrap fabric provided by instructor. 

Snippets: A Writers' Workshop for Shorter Works. This group will read and discuss works out loud. Seating is limited. Registration is required.

Join us for a drop-in event for all ages. Come in, grab warm drink and a snack, get cozy, and choose from a variety of games or puzzles to play with friends!

The Des Moines Public Library is partnering with area organizations to connect people with community resources. Community advocates will provide information about community resources like meal sites and shelters.
