What's the "spark" that shaped the lives of our local leaders? Hear from a different speaker each month as they share their "Spark Story," the specific experience that sparked them to create change in the community. In addition, we’ll hear details about the work they are doing and what keeps them motivated to stay involved.
Curtis Covington has been an Outreach Case Manager with Hope Ministries since May of 2021. He served on the board of directors at Central Iowa Shelter & Services from 2018-2021. He is a veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq and he overcame addiction and homelessness and went on to earn a Bachelor of Social Work at Grand View University. He is working to become a voice to support homeless veterans.
The series includes committed volunteers, founders of organizations, business leaders, philanthropists, city employees, elected representatives, and more.
