7 Days, 7 Events at Your DMPL (12/24-12/30)

Happy Holidays! All branches of the Des Moines Public Library are closed today, December 24, and tomorrow, December 25. Our branches will open for their normal hours on Wednesday, December 26. With our doors shut for two days, we're packing in the fun the rest of the week and keeping you entertained over Winter Break. Join us for a dance party, play some bingo, and get ready for the new year with us this week.

Go to our online events calendar for a full listing of programs. You can also sign up for our email newsletter, where you'll learn more about events and programs, book suggestions, and more.

ON THE BLOG:

Blog Graphic

Did you see our list of the most popular books of 2018? We released the top 10 non-fiction books last Wednesday, and the top 10 fiction books last Friday. We also had Barry Phipps on the DMPL Podcast. His photography is currently on display at the Central Art Gallery, and he'll be at the Central Library to discuss his work next month.

This Wednesday, we'll introduce you to the 2019 DMPL Reading Challenge. We'll give some hints on the categories, talk about the prizes, and let you know how easy it is to sign up. On Friday, Rosie's Corner returns. Rosie will tell us about some of the great programs happening at the library in January. We'll also reveal what new children's books will be hitting our stacks, and we'll have early literacy tips for you.
