Sounds of the Season

Enjoy an evening full of holiday-themed music and cheer courtesy of musicians from Roosevelt High School (RHS). The RHS Chamber Choir will perform under the direction of Rose Dino and Devon Steve, and the RHS Da Capo A Cappella Jazz Choir will perform under the direction of Rose Dino.
An Evening with Sadagat Aliyeva, Co-Author of We the Interwoven

Join us for an evening of cultural conversation as Azerbaijan-native Sadagat Aliyeva shares her life and writing journey. Aliyeva was chosen for the inaugural Bicultural Iowa Writers’ Fellowship. She’ll share her works from We the Interwoven, an anthology from immigrant, first, and second-generation Iowans.
Teen Maker Lab
Wednesday, December 5 & 12, 3:00 PM, South Side Library
It’s time for teens to get hands-on to make bath bombs. Use our supplies, pick your essential oils, and create something that will enhance your bath time experience. Bath bombs also make great gifts. For Teens ages 12-18. Groups of six or more should contact Janeé at 283-4152 to make arrangements.
Bilingual Board Games/Juegos de Mesa Bilingües

Hone your English and Spanish skills each Thursday at the East Side Library. This week, we’ll be playing board games, with instructions and conversation in both languages. These activities are great for the whole family.
Gingerbread Cookie Decorating
Thursday, December 6, 4:30 PM, Central Library
Create a gingerbread figure you can catch – and eat! We’ll sing songs and enjoy some scrumptious stories about our favorite spiced baked good. After that, you can create your own gingerbread figure using gumdrop buttons, sprinkles, and frosting.
Knit and Crochet Project Time
Saturday, December 8, 1:00-3:30 PM, North Side Library
Bring in your projects and spend a few hours with other crafters as you get ready for the holidays. You can share tips, techniques, and ideas for pieces, as well as fun stories. Feel free to stay for the full event or drop in for just a few minutes. Bring your own supplies, and we’ll provide snacks and refreshments!
